I bought this green Tonak (made for the russian market) for 9 euro including shipping and it turned out to be a very fine felted hat. Very soft and mallable. Not sure if the hatband is original, but could be. No lining in it, but there is a label. According to Steve @mayserwegener it could be a '50's or '60's hat. Glad i saved this one! :)

Well now... it must be scrunched up hat monday! looks like this box had a run in with the US Post Office. Might have been ok if the shipper hadnt crammed a bunch of inflatable air bags in the box... Its a Beaver Brand Major. Black with a nice rolled brim and wide edge ribbon..... I THINK it was a bowler in a previous life lol. Oh well it was really cheap, it fits, its clean and should steam up just fine... we all need a pile of bowlers dont we? Ive been restoring a 1920s tenor banjo, so Ive had my John Hartford vibe on... saw this one and couldnt resist for $20

I'm not sure it's a Bowler, Rick. However, if anyone can restore it, I'm sure you can.

Love to see more photos of the banjo btw.

I’d also lean to a bit of a homburg-esque kind of hat. Feel like a crushed bowler wouldn’t be as forgiving. Langenberg/Beaver was doing some good stuff with their brim curls in that era.
It definately looks like its TRYING to have a little center crease and maybe a couple small side dents in it... brim is also a tad bit flatter than my three older stetson bowlers (two "EXCELLANT" quality- one black and one brown AND one black "SELECT" quality ) they have just a bit more front and rear "swoop" than this one. Im leaning to being a homberg-ish myself... cute little hat. I just love these curled wide bound brim treatments

I do as well. They’ve certainly grown on my over time.

Did I need it? Nope. Did I want it? Yup.
Imperial Stetson fedora in brown (no colour name) made under license in England. Size 56 with the smallest of overwelt brims at 6,5cm and the crown at a generous 11,5cm as creased. Weighs 107 grams. Early example of the kind of hats Failsworth was producing under the Stetson license; fantastic quality.

Another one I jumped on right away. No bargaining and no asking about the size, from a French seller who never wore it, it seems.
The Sovereign Stetson Twenty Texan in silverbelly. Turned out to be a size 57 with the the raw edge brim at 7cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. Nice single ply ribbon. Weighs 151 grams. Great hand to the slightly more stiff felt (as expected for a more western leaning style). Apparently the block number 123 was the ******* block (according to this link: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/stetson-block-profile-numbers.62324/post-1867726), but this is anything but a ******* (well, a Texan ******* perhaps?). Not a Stetson label but a generic one.

Great find, Stefan! I’m a fan of the ‘skinny string’ westerns and have a small pile of them myself. To find one with the model name on the sweat is a rarity.

Very nice, Stefan. First one I’ve seen. I wonder if it’s any relation to the Wormser Texan?
