Finally had some time to take photos of the MW california aviator that I purchased at auction a week ago.

Saw it on instagram before it went on ebay and since then ive been keeping my eye on it. I couldnt be more glad as the fit is exactly what i was looking for(nice short arms and not too long of a body). Not to mention the stellar natural wear the jacket has accumulated over the years!

Definitely glad to have it in my rotation!

Wonderful jacket! I was bidding on it also. This is the cat's eye. I bought a black one years ago.
With no label. For years, I thought it was a california's sportswear. jacket.Because of some stitching. then, one showed up with a leather tag by los Angeles sports togs. Now I am told by jacket jawn, that california's sportswear did produce the same jacket at the same time. I recently, purchased one, which Jon says was made by CSC

Confusing isn't it? I have a california sportswear and a los.Angeles sports togs edition. They do fit a bit different, one is a little longer.

Your jacket appears to be the CSC variant.

I will post some pictures or do a video with the three that I have. That will better demonstrate the small differences.

I think you did quite well getting this jacket. I wouldn't sell mine

It’s the LA Sportogs variant. The CSC variants had a two button cuff, CSC collar instead of the more spread out LA Sportogs collar and fits longer.

Thanks for the correction! I didn't take the time to confirm. I forgot about the obvious difference in the cuff.

The CSC variant is a bit longer, fits longer. The leather is different, the colors.

a great simple Aviator Style.

Boots count as outerwear right?!

My 1950s ranger work boots in brand new condition. Even came in the box! No cracking and sole is still flexible. The leather is thick and sturdy, but with time I can see these breaking in beautifully. Was stoked to find these in my size and for steal!

Hello everyone!

Been lurking this forum for a bit and finally decided it was time I participate! View attachment 647745

Thought id break the ice by sharing one that some may have seen recently. As soon as i saw it i knew I had to have it! It’s not often this size in this condition pops up for this style! Will be posting more soon.

1938 Ward, top right. Is your jacket reversible?

This is a bit random, but I wasn’t sure where else to post it. It looks like Peter’s Tailor Made may have operated under a different name or DBA. I found a listing in an early 1940s white pages that’s difficult to read, but it appears to say “Peter Jacket & Pants Co, 3182 Mission.” That address matches the labels on their garments. This could be useful for anyone interested in digging into business records to learn more about Peter.

The prime time for these beautiful short wools is late 30s. The adult sizes just don't show up often. I wish they did.
As do I, I’m a big fan but only seem to see them for sky high prices shipped from Japan. I’m sure most were worn to pieces, though, and 90 or so years on I suppose that shouldn’t be a surprise.

A Sears children's jacket (18.5 pit to pit) from their Boyville line I happened across on ebay and very much wished was my size. I'd assume 1930s or 40s based on the style and zipper but I don't know much about them.

Boysville was made for boys, whose sizes only go up to 14-18, as seen in their catalog (linked below). The “prep” label actually went up to sizes 20-22. Your jacket might never show up in the size you want.
