Hi everyone, hope the day's off to a good start.

I was reading an issue of The Rake and saw this photo of Bob Dylan arriving at Heathrow in 1962. Look at that jacket, wow! And it looks like he's wearing whole cut loafers as well with narrow trousers - contemporary then, contemporary now. Love it.

Don't know if this belongs in the Celebrities Jackets thread but just wanted to share.

They both look seriously chic in a not trying-too-hard kinda way. And look at the grain and striations on that jacket, is it buffalo? Maybe horse? I don't think it's cow or steer.

The case under his arm is also too cool.

I thought you were kidding about it being Shark Leather - apparently it's a thing but I wouldn't want anything to do with it. The hide looks creepy and I'd bet you'd have stray cats following you around every where when suited up in this.
Shark leather is quite durable and is more often used for footwear. I have a pair of Allen Edmonds shoes that I frequently wear in the summertime made of shark. You can also find it as an exotic leather used for cowboy boots.

Haha, I wasn't kidding. I never joke about identifying leather.

Narrow trousers definitely are not contemporary now. Narrow trousers now are like the old guys in 1973 still wearing the full-cut trousers of the early 60s.

Drainpipes had a major revival over here as part of the eighties thing until just a few years ago. Not sure what the current thing is exactly, but from what I see it's a generic width that is still narrower than I would prefer, and a little shallower too. But then it's been over a decade, maybe nearer two, since I was last able to buy trousers I like otr without going mail order... :-/
