The M-422a in Top ***. The jacket was basically the main vcharcater in the movie. I was 14 when the picture came out and thought, there was no cooler jacket in the world.
Yeah, probably get the "Hey, hot shot!" or "Fighter jet refueling, eh?" comments. I wear what I like, but that one, yeah, I think it's a big too much. Just Have to live vicariously watching Tom Cruise wear that one.It probably IS a G-1, but I am not enough of a military-repro buff to be ever able to know. I like the movie for the memory it evokes, but wouldn´t dream about getting a TG-patched jacket.
You really think Brando look squeezed in that Durable jacket? I always thought he looked just right and tried to get the same kind of fit in my cross zips. But come to think of it, it was always hard to match that kind of perfect fit. My jackets always seemed to be a bit roomier on me.Marlon Brando looks like somebody had squeezed him into jeans and jackets that are simply one size too small for him. Yet, both are somewhat of (pop-)cultural icons even decades after their time.
I missed that one. Will have to check it out on youtube!I'm surprised no one's mentioned it yet given all the attention it's previously gotten on here, but Steve Rogers' (modified Aero?) battlefield jacket in the first Captain America movie was pretty cool for the 10-15 seconds it appeared.
I usually eschew the hat, even when it's raining. Only wear hats when I'm doing yard work to protect myself from the hot sun. Like Gorgeous George, I like to show everyone my luscious locks.I watched The Untouchables (for the umpteenth time) the other day and was really admiring Elliott Ness's leather jacket. Lots of great hats, as well!
John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. Yeah, probably get the "Hey, hot shot!" or "Fighter jet refueling, eh?" comments. I wear what I like, but that one, yeah, I think it's a big too much. Just Have to live vicariously watching Tom Cruise wear that one.

Legend has it, Brando had the liner removed from his Durable to be able to wear it even slimmer.
But you will be right (also @Edward as by his earlier post); it´s probably down to me just not liking Brando as an actor. He always appeared to over-act in a slightly complacent way. That´s just me. If you don´t like something, it´s pretty hard to stay objective...
The film jacket as I recall had definitely had the liner removed... no ide why, though Brando's preference is certainly one option. I did wonder if it was a comfort thing. Given they filmed on the Columbia Pictures Ranch lot, depending on what time of year they filmed I've often wondered whether it was simply to try and cut down on the heat of the jacket. (Most on-set candids I've seen from that shoot, Brando is wearing just the t-shirt, jacket off.) I'm not sure the liner on a Durable was ever thick enough to make that much of a difference to fit, though if it was *just* a little tight, I guess that could make a comfort difference.
Clothing/Attire/Duds in Bond movies is worthy of its own thread for sure!
Car makers have always used the release of a new episode to test/promote new or potential designs and Increasingly so since the Brosnan days.
That was also around the time when Omega started to heavily market their “Bond-watches” as well.
I have to say, it’s gotten a bit out of hand. Do you remember that scene in the opening of “Skyfall” in Istanbul when Bond is chasing Patrice on a train, getting shot at with a semi automatic *** all the time and stops to glance at his watch for three seconds. Close up and all. That was when even I got annoyed…
Clothing and marketing for them really spiralled out of control during the Craig-movie (he does look good in everything, of course). Tom Ford, Crockett&Jones, Barbour, Billy Reid, Orlebar Brown - the list of heavily marketed items goes on and on.
It’s not unsuccessfu, though. I went down that specific rabbit hole myself and checked out what to wear to channel the inner secret agent With every release. Quite happy to report that I didn’t like anything from the last movie, so I guess I’ve moved on.
Next Bond probably will be either a woman, or a 20 year old or a metro***ual, so I consider myself outside the relevant set for the future.
I've always liked the 70s style jacket Brad Pitt wears in Fight Club. But of course, like all cool jackets in films, it's the character and the actor that make it cool.

Good point! The lining (if original) was diamond quilted, so it would have added extra insulation.
That said, I will stick to my tale as it fuels my claim that MB simply wore the jacket too small.![]()

*Decent* repros are now available (unlike the one I bought from ASOS back in the day - and returned ten minutes after I opened it. I coulda sput through that leather....). Would never go with anything I wear now, though - way too modern for me. A red jacket was a bold choice for a man then - though of course on point with TYler Durden's wardrobe that contained a few touches that had a deliberately feminised look (the dressing gown was another) as part of the film's commentary on toxic masculinity, and illustrating Durden confidence in his own masculinity.
