Hello! Hopefully I'm not duplicating a thread, I used the search function and did find a thread from 5 years ago

https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/rainbow-country-special-ordering.102856/

But I was wondering if any member here recently has traveled to Japan and found stores offering tax free alongside selling Rainbow Country jackets

I'm going to Japan in a few weeks, last year I went and visited McFly and Mushmans, both had a good stock of RC jackets but neither offered tax free

Thanks in advance!

I was finish my business trip to Tokyo and osaka 2 weeks ago. I found that many of Japanese vintage brand (or the store sell those brand)do not accept tax-free (or they do not want do it). The Real McCoy is the one never tax-free. Others store with brand Freewheelers, Rainbow country, Toy mccoy…etc also non tax-free.

The most obvious example is those shops in Ueno. General Garden sells brands like Freewheelers, Toys McCoy, and Rainbow Country, yet they don't offer tax-free shopping. Meanwhile, the HINOYA next door—which carries Buzz Rickson’s—does offer tax refunds. If I remember correctly, don't all these Ueno shops actually belong to the same owner?"

Yeah that was also my experience last time, it's a bit disappointing because that 10% really do adds up when buying various things

But still, the local prices are really lower than buying from abroad, so much so that I might end buying a lot again...

And wow, I didn't know about the shops in Ueno belonging to the same owner
