The Stylepark that I posted yesterday was one of a two-fer I got from a Goodwill auction, won for $22. The second hat is this Royal Stetson Falcon from the early 60's. I'd not seen one before, but the use of the trademark began in 1962 per another user on this site back in 2020. The hatband treatment is unique here.

1960’s Stetson 25. Arrived via everyone’s favorite packing method, lol. Pretty darn clean overall. Sweatband in good shape, felt in great shape. Could probably use some steam and brushing, but I’m pretty pleased.

Looks great! Glad it survived the poor shipping!

Got this one headed this way. I’m trying to develop the skill of locating cost-effective hats that are worth having.

Working backwards from “cool - cheap hat I don’t hate”, here is the rationalization I came up with:

This is a late-peak era mass production hat. (I think late 50s)The kind of hat most everybody walking down the street was probably wearing most of the time. Built by the thousands in giant factories that no longer exist. Fairly typical of the quality of hat produced at the time. I decided it would be cool to have a representative example on deck with which to compare notes. Not unique, not particularly special, but I like it. And it should fit. Plus it’s the only hat I have that has the little wind cord thing.

How did I do? $25 all in.

I think you did great! I have a Champ with the Kasmir “Feel the Felt” as well, although mi e has a somewhat larger brim. Very happy with mine and I think you’ll like yours as well!

Fantastic hat and a great find, Marcel!

Two more new scores, grouped together under 1940's finds (from what I can tell) that I had to give gas baths to yesterday. First. A brown, (very soft!) bound edge Cavanagh and a light gray Baxter Hats fedora, also in bound brim. Both with the patina that comes with their age.

Baxter seems to be a rare one, last posted about by John Galt in 2014, he identified them as a 1940's era manufacturer.

Nice finds, Jeff. I agree with Daniele that the Cavanagh is the winner here.

A few hats were still waiting for their chance on the stage.
Patterson fedora in a grey colour called Tourbe. Size 60 with the overwelt brim at 5,5cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. Despite the brand name it is actually French and the colour name makes it easy to identify the maker as Mossant, as it was one of their colours. Weighs a neat 105 grams. Can be worn brim up or brim down; both work well. Soft felt with a nice hand.

Second one.
Albertini fedora in a grey colour called medusa (don't know what to make of that). Size 59 with the overwelt brim at 5cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. The fancy ribbon is called fantasia and that tells us the actual maker is Panizza, because it's a designation they used sometimes for their ribbons.
Fairly sturdy felt with a longhair finish. A few nibbles on and under the brim but not very noticeable.

Third one and we're getting somewhere. This one is for my collection.
Barbisio Lontra in a grey misto felt. Size 57 with the overwelt brim at 6cm and the crown at 11,5cm at the front. Lovely hand to the felt and I have a soft spot for these lontra hats. This one was in a right state when it arrived: dirty, liner missing, ribbon shaky at best and the sweatband detached. Still liked it. Washed the hat and reattached the sweatband. Like it even better.

This one is a bit special and it's been quite a while since we've seen one. This one is partly thanks to Marcel @Pellie who spotted it was not the listed size 56, but larger and the label made it extra interesting.
Echter Borsalino homburg in a grey colour called Argento. Model is a new one called Sanvulcan. Size is 59 or 60 depending on which of the labels you choose to believe. Unlined with the bound brim at 6cm and the crown at a generous 12cm at the center dent.
This one is one of the early ones before 1936. I was hoping for a date inside the sweatband (which the German ones often have), but alas. In as good a condition as can be hoped for for a hat this age and being shipped in an envelope! But what a thing.

That’s a beautiful Homburg! I just let a nice grey colored Melton Homburg slip away from me because I hesitated too long.

Congratulations! The only thing I dislike about that hat is that it's probably a size or two too small for my head. Ah, well, the hunt for the perfect hat continues! ;)
