    British Workwear

Merry Christmas folks This probably belongs in the British Suits thread, but here's a cool peice of tailoring being used in this lads work attire. Love this 1943 photo taken by Cecil Beaton. You can see by the Cresent pockets that this was cleary once a very fashionable jacket. Edward VIII...

    Show us your British suits

Some tailors put a layer of body canvas in the front and back of sleevehead to give it shape as you would with wadding in the crown. Very traditional.

Is this 3 PIECE SUIT Edwardian? 1920s? Earlier?

Looking at the shape of that armhole and sleeve, it all seems very remenisant of cutters drafts of the 1880s. I'd say it was definitely 19th century. Amazing find! Glad it's out of the pillow case

    Suits - Pre 1920

The Hoover Coat! Great! Trying to work out whether the cartoon was geuinely intended promotional peice or whether it's sarcastically over enthasizing the limited versatility of the design. :D

I'll ask. The back is fairly plain. Have you noticed it doesn't have a breast pocket?

    Suits - Pre 1920

A freind of mine bought this rather handsome tweed three peice at the weekend. Tailors lable says its made in Oxford. I think it's late teens, what do think? https://www.facebook.com/britainsspirit/photos/a.361215980560866.106203.131337033548763/970431346305990/?type=1&theater

    Tab Collar Shirts Still Available?

Simon the shirt looks awesome, but I agree with Two Types and think it would look even cooler as a tunic shirt with the placket ending at the bottom of the bib. I can see the amount of work thats gone into the bib. You've got a good shirtmaker!
