Really the only significant difference I can see is the lack of brim binding.
In natural light it's less blue and looks a light gray. Also the Adventurer is very similar to the Fed IV because the Hattery is the only outlet allowed to carry the Fed IV, dunno if you knew that.

Well, that pretty much hits the nail on the head. It fits as intended. So the answer to my original question is "no, the pants are too low."
I may also save up 350-400 for a used Vanson CHP on ebay, and see if it fits for a more casual look.

I've always been partial to the Levis standard trucker jacket (70507). I currently wear this exact wash. The 0604 with corroded copper buttons.

Well, I'm not too sure about that particular brand, but the original A-2 jacket pattern had low armholes that cause it to ride up when you lift your arms.
