I'm not a fan either. I find her a bit vacuous. Also, these days she often seems to be wearing modern designer clothes in magazines, not vintage.

Yep. There's a photo called and someone put "a young Dita". It's on page 10. Not as amazing as I would have expected. I think her style has grown out of years of literal trial and error.
