Ha ha i was admiring those too, hope you enjoy them, they are rockin'!! Can i have the red shoes now? x

Hell no! I am going to be buried in those shoes!

Anyway - I am doing you a favour. Almost every time I wear red shoes (which is quite often as I have 5 pairs) I hear someone say "Red shoes, no knickers". Which isn't very nice.

I love red shoes, I have never heard the "red shoes, no knickers" must be an English thing.
I would just say don't you wish you knew.

That saying certainly has an implication. I hadn't heard it until I went to London. Then I wondered, who on earth came up with that? If a lady wears red shoes here there's no assumptions about it! She's just wearing red shoes!

I've never heard it either, but i haven't got any red shoes so that figures. I only knew the 'it's all a bit fur coat and no knickers' thing !

"Fur coat and no knickers" is one of my favourite British expressions. Very descriptive of the keeping up with the Joneses thing that seems quite common here.

Those sassy scarlet women! Actually i had some rather lovely red shoes in my shop, which sadly were too big for me and i was amazed how many customers actually said, "oooh dorothy shoes", rather reassuring really. (No mention of streetwalkers or no knickers)!

Maybe it's an uncle thing. I have a friend whose elderley uncle apparently says the same about women in fur coats, because he associated them with the 'women of the night' who used to wear them hanging about the docks up north where he worked. But i agree people like to bring things down to the lowest common denominator, i'm sure sometimes it's just lighthearted banter though.

I have to agree with the comments about Naturalizers. I think within the last couple of years, the quality has diminished. I've had two pairs within the past two years, and for both, they've lasted just in the area of 9 months.

For the most part, they have been comfortable. Unfortunately, if you spend almost your entire workday on your feet (which I do, up to 12-13 hours frequently), they're probably not the best investment. If you have a desk job though, they're probably just fine.

I came across these in a shop in Nottingham over the weekend, fell in love with them, love the flower detail and the plastic heels. Couldn't afford them at the time but have found them greatly reduced on the internet for £9.99, Yeeh!! may just have to spend some pennies now.

OMG I might just die with out those shoes! I looked online but all I could find was tan in my size. I need them in lilac or white in a 40, where online did you buy yours?

I own those too (the black ones)! Bought them in London last year. ;0
Love them! Wearing them in my current profile pic (though you can barely see them).
