I take it you're not a fan of prog? LOL!!

Coheed and Cambria does prog rock with better musicianship than all of the above, with the exception of Neil Pert from Rush, who's probably the world's greatest percussionist from any era. His band sucks though

The world's greatest percussionist passed away last year. His name was Francisco Aguabella. Blanket statements like the one I just made can be hard to defend. But he's my pick (and many other's pick as well). Cheers

possibly unpopular around here - I like metal. All kinds of metal. An uncle told me back when I was 15 that it was a phase I would grow out of. Nearly a quarter century later and I'm still looking for new bands and more metal. :D

He was a traditional latin percussionist, and not really a "drummer", but I agree that at the top of his game.
