Just a couple of quick webcam pics to demonstrate the way my hp cap is shaping. Grainy photos, but they are good enough to demonstrate what I mean. My head is 23 1/2 inches. I think perhaps on people with smaller heads, the cap would look fuller and larger in dimension. If I could have a cap costumised for me, a little more dimension overall might suit me better, being 6'2", but I like that the brim doesn't have a stiffener, so perhaps it would be hard to make the brim any larger. Overall, I find it to be a very loveable cap. Probably the style of flat cap I think suits me best are the Kangol Hudson style caps, but I prefer to wear this cap because the fabric is much better quality, and is more comfortable and somehow has more character about it - it's like wearing a home made wool sweater compared to a factory made one.

You know, I reckon it is a pity that the Baggy Cricket Cap hasn't made it into general casual wear like the baseball cap has. It is sort of half way between the baseball cap and a newsboy cap, and would provide an option for those who want to wear something other than a baseball cap but who baulk a the traditional flat cap and newsboy styles. I suspect early baseball caps were very similar to the baggy cricket cap.

I wanted to follow up on this post. Carol from Hat People contacted me, and informed me the difference between my two caps is nothing more than a slight variation in the way they make their caps. I thought it was nice of her to take time out of her busy schedule to satisfy my curiosity; that's the kind of personal touch you don't get from a lot of manufacturers/vendors these days.

@Zombie_61 Plus your cap is one of a kind and no-one else will have one exactly like it. Just don't leave your hat people cap behind when robbing a bank.

If I were foolish enough to attempt to rob a bank these days, somehow I think leaving my hat behind would be the least of my worries.

I've been thinking of buying another hat people cap for camping and wearing around the farm during winter. Been thinking of a heather wool one. Wasn't sure if the crown would stay in position while riding around on the ATV though, not having a snap on the brim. It's a coolish night, and I needed to turn off some taps down the paddock, so I wore my 'good' hp cap as a test. Riding around at 28km/hr, the crown didn't budge. That's as far as I normally ride around the place, so looks like it'll be all good.

Grey Heather, Full Cut, Hat People Cap. I like how the heavier, stiffer wool of this cap makes the brim sit out from your forehead more. I have another hp cap, and bought this one as a knockabout hat for camping and on the farm in winter, but I like this cap a lot more than I expected. This wool fabric has an unusual look to it. It looks like a melton wool to me, but I've been told it is woven. Anyway, I really like it.

A couple things to note about the different cuts of the hat people caps is how they look and sit on your head depends on the shape and size of your head and the fabric you choose. I don't know whether they increase the size of the crown when they size their hats or just the band. My head is 23 & 1/2 inches. The other hp cap I have is a softer wool and is a bit puffier than the heather, which some people don't like but I am quite fine with.

The reason I've become so devoted to hp caps is mainly comfort, which I think is due to the tailored sizes and that the crown is roomy enough to pull down over the back of my head more. I think the non-stiffened brim helps too, because it doesn't have an edge against your forehead. The Pendleton wools mightn't be as classic as the tweeds like what your flat cap is made of, and gives perhaps a less stiff, structured look, but it adds to the comfort of the hat too I think. There is something about this grey heather cap that makes me think of a faithful old dog sleeping by the fire - a bit baggy and saggy, mottled and comforting.

Not at all, Adnamira. Besides, without being able to see the wearer's face we wouldn't be able to determine whether or not the hat they're wearing is "right" for them and offer our opinions on the matter.

BTW, that Grey Heather is a beautiful cap, and it really looks good on you! And I concur with your opinions of Hat People's caps--soft, comfortable, and attractive from the start, and they get better the more you wear them.

I've been enjoying the wool Hannah Hats I purchased over the winter and one leather cap I've had for a few years, and another leather one I purchased from a fellow lounger. Not that the weather is beginning to warm up, what light weight caps do you like or recommend? I've been looking at a couple of denim and linen caps, just curious as to the pros and cons of different types and/or manufacturers. Thanks in advance for all input!
