Hi, I'm looking to buy some reproduction 50's trousers (pleated). The ones I've found so far are:

1. Adventure Pants by Magnoli. Not specifically 50's, but in the general vicinity.
2. Jack Trousers by Revamp Vintage.
3. Double Pleated Trousers by Baby Jo (Tarantula).

Can anyone recommend any of these items or perhaps suggest another one? Thank you.

No direct experience of those. I am very pleased with mine from HeyDay. There's also an eBay seller on eBay UK does them from Eva Dress patterns. I'll post a link if i get a chance later.

Wow, those peg trousers look perfect. What are your trousers made of and what style are they? Please post a link to the eBay seller if you get a chance. We'd appreciate it.

Repros are okay, just dont expect that lovely rayon gabardine from the 40s-50s. It is often cheaper to buy originals if you can find them in your size.

There's the "if"... For the most part, those of us in the 36" plus waist size bracket can forget originLs. The heydays are polycotton, drapes nicely and machine washable. I have the pegs and a pair of the Gallipolis (very wide).

The eBay seller I mentioned is "qbiffa".

I own a pair of Magnoli trousers, and I wasn't particularly impressed with them. Part of it I suppose was my fault, because made to measure is a hard concept to nail down on the first try. I had to send them back for size adjustments, the fly was a zipper (I requested button), a belt loop ripped; small stuff like that, but it added up. The return postage cost $40, but Mr. Magnoli met me halfway with $20 credit to another purchase. I wasn't pleased with the twill fabric blend as it pills.

But then again, I only paid $140 after everything, and the styling is something I'm happy with even though the fit's a little off. I feel if you can really describe what you're looking for and want, and your measurements are spot on, Magnoli can be a great bargain. It just wasn't the program for me.

If you're wear a smaller waist (34" and under) the classifieds here are a great spot to look. Originals frequently turn up, often for good prices. I picked up a couple 40's-50's pairs in the last few months each under $50.

And Old Woogies makes some great looking repro's. I never purchased I pair so I can't comment on the quality, but the styling looks impeccable. I contacted them for sizing info, and communicated directly with the owner of the company. Great service.

I checked Old Woogies. They're stuff is more for the 40's, but it's very nice. The lapels and pants legs are too wide for the 50's, but I could be wrong.

Thank you for your excellent suggestions. I will pursue all of them. Merry Christmas.

Not with the trousers, but I have some of their knit shirts. Very well made, and Angelo is great to deal with!

I emailed him. I used to own some Italian suits in the 90s and remember how great they were. The pants leg is a little too wide for the 50's, but I emailed him and I'll post back with an update.

Angelo can adjust the trousers to whatever spec you require. I own a pair of his shoes and one of his belts, and both are superb quality. I've seen his pull over shirts in person many times, as well as one of his hats, and both are superb quality!
