Casquette Torpedo from France

Quite a bit younger but an old Brand...

Has a stiffener in mid-section of the top in the upper snap area extending outward a bit. Very refined wool and mid-size proportions.

Thanks for all the positive comments on The Varsity Caps.

My latest win on the bay. The Vintage Hickory Stripe is one of my favorite fabrics and the history on the Seaboard Coast Line is interesting.

Robert, that is a great bundle of caps! The Varsity Caps are gorgeous. Your Torpedo cap looks great too. Very nice shape.

Bert, great find and cap, looking forward how it looks on your head!

Not sure if this was posted before.

Stetson Cap Making Facility Dresden, Germany (Some great shots of their block collection)

Thanks Steve for the video two things I saw that was interesting was that they did not show them using Dies to cut the fabric. Most cap makers for large manufactors use die's and a Hydraulic press to cut fabric for Multiple caps now. They missed up at the end with the bike rider not wearing the same cap.
That is a bad ending I said DoH when they missed that.

You are very fortunate to still have a brain that still works! I did not notice any of that stuff either. I lost my mind years ago and Ed told me he did too. It must be the air we breathe in the midwest. Check your facebook page. I am trying to get my foot in the door!

Hello! I'm a loyal member of the lounge but a bit of a newbie in the hat section.
I'm looking for a pretty basic style of cap with a vintage cut.
This is the style that I'm after, for it's obvious wooing advantages:

Both summer and winter versions.
Any recommendations off the bat? Something reasonably priced please!:)

I love this cap. Can anyone tell me where I might get one in this style? I'm not a fan of the larger, puffier style, probably because I'm new to caps (don't have one yet). I seem to find only floppier newsboy caps and poorly made ivy caps in the local shops. Thanks.

You might want to look at City Sport cap's they make high quality ivy cap's. Which is the style Robert is so wonderfully modeling.:)

An you have to work youself up to the larger newsboys that I am sporting in my Avatar. When all you have worn is ball caps the shape of a good newsboy can look
strange on your head. But once use to the style the ivy cap looks funny to you then.:D
