Cool thread... I don't remember seeing it before. Interesting to see Gene's (RLK's) teal No.1 Quality... looks like the same color as my Imperial Stetson which would date very close as well.

Unique is such a challenge. Every time I think I've found a one of a kind something, another shows up a few hours later.

Lincoln Bennett tall crown bowler, probably from the 30-40's:

There was recently a slightly younger Lincoln Bennett on ebay (sadly too small) where it was 'by appointment to the late King George VI' presumably dating from the early 50's as they had a Royal Warrant under the Queen in the mid-late 50's.

In the 1930s J. Hückel´s Söhne was fond of coordinating sweatband, felt and liner colors on their soft felt models. As far as I know this was unique / fantastic feature.

A very unique one. This is a canvas sweatband which was most likely due to war time rationing.

By the way this is the hat!

First of all, thanks Alan for such a cool thread.

Secondly, those Huckels are very cool indeed. Love the color coordination. That's as good as Richard's daily attire :D

Great thread, have become obsessed with sweatbands and liners lately, these are inspirational. Would be in heaven if someone started a lovely liners thread as suggested....

Go on, you know you want to...
