On Black Friday I bought 3 pair of Fryes Artisanal boots from SAKSOFF5th. They ran a special for $165 a pair. I wear an 11 D and was undecided about ordering a size down (10 or 10 1/2) since I had heard they ran large. I ordered the 3 pairs ( one black and 2 brown) in size 11

Good thing I did becUse all 3 are true 11's.

The interesting thing is they all fit differently. The black ones right foot is tighter and very difficult to get on. But once on are fine. The 2 brown ones slip on easier and fit more comfy.

Actually I only wanted 2 pair but hit button for 3.

They are excellent quality and I'm very happy perhaps someone later will want a pair of brown ones and I'll let one go.

Oh, and these are the Americana special edition with strip on the shaft (the shorter 11" ones) and stars on top. Very understated and looks classy.

This is the Wesco 11" Boss Engineer Boot, made with Custom oil-tanned Black Tie Domain leather and a hard toe. A vintage-style classic that is a trademark for true riders and rebels. The 11" Boss boot comes with one top strap and an instep strap with nickel plated hardware. This boot has a Double Midsole with the custom Vibram #430 Microtread Sole. Brown upper stitching and Heavy white outsole stitching.

I was going to say the same thing. That is absolutely ATROCIOUS! I am so glad I did not go for a pair of these and got a third pair of Clinch instead.

Wesco 90th Anniversary chocolate brown - really beautiful finish but I wish they had the buckle straps. They are a bit tight - might have to take them for some stretching torture at the local cobbler:

Thinking about a pair of Red Wing 2990's. Any fit recommendations? An online search indicates many go down a 1/2 size, and just as many went with their normal size.

I wear a 7.5 in the 2966. I also take a 7.5 in Road Champs, Wesco and Chippewa boots. I also take a 7 or 8 in other brands.
