I really do not want to bash the jacket for what it is, but continuing the discussion about the Schott name - why do this? The jacket is not made by Schott, is not made in USA and is not made with materials from Schott. So you only use the name without anything that constitutes the name Schott. Why cheapen your brand like that? Only for the monies?

Can only guess the money was right when the deal was struck - it would be interesting to know more of the whys and wherefores though. I doubt we ever will unless someone on here knows more of the history of the company.

I do find it a little disingenuous how they use descriptions like this in European shops selling the licenced jackets. I mean yes they do have the name but...

Established in 1913, the family brand has known how to pass through the ages without taking a wrinkle. Marlon Brando or The Ramones have worn it and present the perfecto, emblem of the American culture and stamped with a decidedly rock'n roll spirit. Constantly renewed Schott collections retain the brand's DNA and in particular the robustness and functionality of its clothes.

What else? :) Overseas production is always cheaper and besides, I'm thinking, their main market is still the USA and none of the imported leather stuff is available there so people are none the wiser.

As for everything else, at least they're... kinda honest about it.
