Fantastic!
Is that same jacket? How is Schott horsehide in your opinion if you already used to wear heavyweight jacket?

Standard Schott HH ages and creases wonderfully but it’s thin. Not a very thick or substantial leather. But that one you have pictured here the 613SH is a bit different. Trimmer through the chest and shoulders and definitely a more substantial hide. They use a much thicker one for this model. That’s not to say it’s Vanson or LW thick though. It’s not going to tip the scales and it’s not a suit of armor by any means. If someone was going to get a Schott jacket though this would be the one I recommend. If you want Schott you want a one star as it’s their thing, and you’d want their best hide which is this one.

Well. As we prepare to wave hello to November next week, I'm still in just a t shirt here in the South of England. Mazing!

Here in Surrey was 7C at 7am and now it’s 15C. I think this is perfect weather for a leather jacket? If you are fine with just a t-shirt at 15C no wonder that the 25C of this last summer were hell.

Well that's "Global warming" for ya right there !!

Oh sorry , hope that is not too "political" for the bartenders haha...

I emigrated from Scotland to Australia starting in 1990 BECAUSE I wanted some "global warming" up my kilt !

Here in Perth Western Australia we are having 28C 30c and 28C next 3 days.

"Normal " spring cycle for us. I STILL wear a leather jacket most every day !

I of course ride a Harley as "everyday transport" which half explains...

Hey DAV , your gutters need emptying of leaves , one of my regular jobs in sunny Australia !

Ha! I am leaving for Paris on Sunday and will be there a little over a week. I am going to hit up the Schott store, any other nice jacket stores I should visit?
Hi
If there's one store you need to check out, it's T-bird shop located 16 rue Mayet in the 6th arrondissement
There's a video interview of the owner, it's in french, but the pictures speek for themselves:

Oops. i just realize the question has been already answered.
Welcome to Paris anyway

You must be my wife!

Mrs barnabus is always complaining of being cold, but for me 15° is about the bottom end of comfortable t shirt temperature. Any cooler and I'm looking to wear a flannel shirt or a sweat shirt. And once we're down to about 10 or 11 I'll be reaching for a jacket.

I've been out this afternoon doing some errands and was comfy in just my t shirt, but noticed that most people were in coats and jackets, even beanie hats were in evidence.

I made a quick reference in the Aero sale thread to there not being any A1s in the sale but I’d found this jacket. I couldn’t believe my luck- listed on eBay as a brown bomber jacket with buttons. It looked ‘proper’ and while the YMC stamp on the lining threw me the black label gave me confidence. A quick search came up with a reference to YMC A1s made by Eastman in a TFL thread from years ago. I made a very speculative buy it now at £180, worried it might be wrong and yes it’s got the label! Cosmic ordering at its best - it’s a 44” Long - my size!
Ps Thank you Dr H whose input to the A1 thread put me on the right track
