Trojan Repro by Schott /Legendary

Some of you asked, so here it is: a quick review of the rarest Schott/Legendary Trojan repro made of HH.
It seems the jacket was produced in 2006 for the web shop of legendary. Untill recently it was the playfield for Schott's take on some iconic vintage models. They produced their Black Stallion ( a repro of the Buco J24), they re-issued their "Beck Northeaster 333", this Trojan and maybe some jackets I missed and haven't seen.

First of all the sizing is a bit odd: it's tagged 42 but I usually wear 46, and although it's a bit snug on shoulders, it's not that bad.

The construction and stitching are correct Schott's standard, clean and efficient, no defect to notice. The removable real mouton collar is fantastic and very usefull in winter.
The jacket has a warm thick quilted lining, bordeaux color.
The hardware is YKK heavy.

Black FQHH, far from LW's thickness, its nevertheless consistent and rigid.
I suppose the repro is a tad longer in the body than original Trojan, which were short jackets if memory serves. In that, Schott made a good interpretation/update of this iconic model.
I wish it was a 44, so I would have kept it. Now the jacket is sold. I consider this post as a reminder.

Maybe if we are a consistent number asking for Schott to re-issue this model and send them enquieries, they might do so! So, email up the Schotts!!

I now am more psyched for the Legendary Black Horse to arrive.

So maybe some of the hype Ive heard about how the construction is nicer than standard Legendary/Schott products isnt true, but the designs are, the hide used are killer. Definitely a way nicer hide than standard Schott products. And @Mysteryo in the what jacket thread showed the Black Stallion that is a dream jacket of mine. Although apparently I need to make sure If one ever comes up I go with the first iteration. The less glossy, heavier hide, not the super shiny almost plastic vinyl looking one on his later model. But man Schott could literally make fans out of all of us, and still be considered a top tier maker if they did more of this stuff. The Trojan and the Black Stallion are such good looking jackets in such nice hides. Its also a shame because when they do these jackets with Legendary they sell through the Legendary website and not through Schott or their storefronts so unless you check Legendary you wouldnt even know Schott made gems like these every now and then. Ill never understand that company.

I had a legendary/Schott Black Stallion in size 50 several years ago(2009?). And I've had several Schott's. I'd put them on the same level as far as construction and hide goes. I used a coupon and got it delivered for just under $500...if that helps.

It really is. Not close in weight and craftsmanship to LW or Vanson, but it sure is purdy. Fit is spot on though a bit fuller in the waist than I prefer. I cinch the belt all the way to get the look and feel I want. But it works regardless.

I will ride in this but it will be mostly for off bike leisure.

I’m glad/intrigued to hear SOME positive comment on this rather cheap Italian horsehide, I remember a general disparaging tone toward the HH that Schott uses. I had the Stallion and the Blackhorse, also the 641H & the one with collar, the grain took forever to develop, the chemical smell wouldn’t go away, the sheen stayed on forever too. Now, I’m intrigued to get one myself again.

Funny too see my jacket is now with it's third owner, they where actually reasonably priced when Legendary had it's sales, I hate to think what Schott would charge now if they remade it. I had the stallion as well.

Schott took a lot of stick for the fact that at one time they felt-backed their horse to makecit feel thicker. Not for quite some years now, but I think that was the start of it.

I remember that, someone was so convinced that there was some type of stiffener they took a jacket apart and they found the backing, I can't remember if it was here or the VLJ forum.
I can't recall if legendary knew about it, I think they told schott to stop adding the backing.

Yes, I’m the late 90s to 00s they sandwiched felt between the layers.
