Man, talk about variations on a theme! Take a traditional (some might even say "staid") hat, of a style usually identified with the quieter and more sober souls among us (bankers, etc.), and put a whole new twist (and your own personal stamp) on it.

A homburg in silverbelly with a stingy brim and high crown. Bound with silver grosgrain and a teal bow with accents of silver and crimson.
Oh, and I must thank you, and your hat - it got me thinking about Monk and I ended up downloading Thelonious Alone in San Francisco. Great album.

Very nice lid. That's the 1st Homburg I've seen that I really liked. Oh and Art, I just now noticed where you are located. I've got good friends that live in Eagle Point. I'm almost embarassed to admit it but I used to live in Gold Hill. I still follow the antics of their police department and city council online. Never a dull moment!

Gold Hill is an interesting town JC!!! It is STILL going on after recalls, re-elections, always drama. I'm new to this area (2 yrs) so I'm still learning the local politics. I actually live at the outer edges of Eagle Point, only 3 miles ( as the crow flies) from Butte Falls, but so far out that mail isn't delivered here.
Coming from the SF area the mountains are a greatful change of pace.
