Just to spread the joy of the spring/summer season, the time of cookouts, sunshine, and all around outdoorsyness, I thought it be very fashion forward of us to show how we wear our flowers!

In your hair, pinned to a dress, around your neck, whatever. This is the time of year for bright and lovely, lets display it.

Ill be posting pics shortly, for now you can see my flower in my avatar :)

Happy posting,

LD

Okay, so I'm not wearing them (yet), but I can't seem to get enough of photographing them this year. ...Something to look at anyway.

Obviously, all photos via my junky phone-camera, but you get the jist...

Oooo! B-E-Utiful goils! What a fun thread!

My husband loves to buy me flowers for every occasion. I told him instead of fresh flowers for my birthday, he had to buy me silks for my hair! He did pretty good! I'll hafta take a pic. I couldn't help but chuckle thinking of him at Michael's picking them out. He made a HUGE point to let the cashier know they were for his wife, hehe!

A wee bit :eek:fftopic: , but maybe not really...I have a good quantity of vintage silk and fabric flowers that have been flattened over the years, and I was wondering if anyone had a trick to un-flatten them? I thought I might try ironing them with a tiny bit of spray starch, or steaming them back into shape. Just curious if anyone had any ideas. They are so wonderful, and I love the old ones best!

I bought my own silk flowers at Michael's and hot glued them to alligator clips. That was nearly four years ago, and I've not had to fix any of them!

(I store them in old face powder boxes with a cotton ball sprayed with my perfume so they don't get crushed, and they also smell good!)

And one gigantic lily borrowed from the centerpiece at a wedding reception:

I also have a ton of photos of flowers I've taken that I can post if people would like to see. They're quite spectacular.

I do the same thing, I mean, making my own with alligator clips. I have 2 long pieces of ribbon tacked into the top of the mirror on my dresser, and I clip my flowers (and earrings) to those. I love your idea of storing them with your perfume!

I agree,so pretty! There is just something fresh and glamorous about a woman wearing a flower in her hair.

Baron-I miss seeing flowers on the lapels of a jacket for men.I'm so glad you posted those pics.

Dollbaby-I love the big lilly in that last pic.Beautiful color next to your hair and eyes.

JBD-You look like you just stepped out of a 1940s technicolor musical, stunning color combo.
