Yes, they do shrink, even from the rain. Just FYI.

Also, the best way to stop tunneling´s to buy the correct length (or the length you want) to begin with. You can try this on a second hand jacket, but not on this baby. If you want them shorter may I suggest having them shortened by a pro, or better yet exchange the jacket if you have any doubts. IMO it´s just too much money to experiment with. :eek:

Just going over the posts on FL and VLJ, I notice about ten European Werber owners versus one or two over here.

Still wondering if the relatively high price (over $900 all told) of the 1729P is the reason so few have come to the US. Or are American jacketheads just more focused on wartime stuff?

Well, $1K is more like it after shipping. The US Dollar is in the tank and this is a lot to plop down on a repro jacket, I don't care who makes it. I've been getting relatively good condition originals on eBay for less than that. I purchased mine new. This was the first repro I have ever bought new in my life. I also bought one of their new A-1s. These are going to be my wearers and will never be sold. Unfortunately these jackets fluctuate on the value of the US Dollar and seeing how it's been lately you'll be paying more before you pay less for a new ELC.

New pictures

Took some new pictures after some wear. Again, the pictures are too dark and I messed up all the closeups because of direct sunlight.

It´s intresting how one can see the differences in used hides in one jacket. Althought it can´t be seen on these pictures, the right sleeve has far more defined and developed greasing than the left sleeve.

The more I look at these pictures, the more I like the fit. The (out of the box) pictures that you took at first made the jacket look a little large for you. Now that you have some wear to it, it looks much better. I personally think you´ve scored the correct size. Keep wearing it and it will look even better. Once again, congratulations on what I believe to be one of the best repros available. :D :D

As for the variation in the grain, that´s ELC´s new "War Horse", it will only look better with age. Mine is looking better every day.

Thanks! I feel the fit has improved a lot since I got it. Greasing of sleaves has shortened them a bit and body has lost most of the roundness seen when worn right of the box.

I know what you mean...When I received my Werber fresh out of the box, I didn't really like the "new" look of it. After a few days of wear it broke in quite nicely. Like I said before, I don't think you could find a nicer repro of the Werber. I do think Eastman scored a real winner when they decided to release this new jacket. I hope you have many years of enjoyment with her. :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

I had 2 sets of older elc knits shrink up on me some time ago...I try to wet them as little as possible now.
