I humbly submit my application for membership.

It's a Lands' End Harris Tweed flat cap. The construction is quite untraditional, but from the overstock side of the site for something like $15 it works.

Gents, could you advise me where I might acquire a cap like in the photo below? Notice it's quite wide but without being what you might call baggy or puffy (like B!wear's caps), the circumference of the hat is well wider than the wearer's head but the extra material does not droop down.

Any ideas?

Fellow Faction Comrades! As a pretty solid cap wearer I'm always buying, looking at, thinking about, or talking about buying another cap. Obviously my addiction needs to be slowed with some nice reading material. Does anyone know of anything interesting to read and browse on types of caps, cut, materials, classic makers etc?

My dear friend,

You are presenting with symptoms of OCLD (Obsessive Compulsive Lid Disorder) as many of us do. I have no immediate recommendation on types of caps, cut, materials, classic makers etc; but you may want to read some Kant, Sartre, Hegel or Heidegger. It has helped me divert my symptoms of OCLD, at least temporarily.

That is how i like eight-panels being worn. slightly tilted.

The problem is, mine usually goes back to being straight after wearing it for some time. Is there a trick to keeping it tilted to one side?

:cry: I know - I have a problem. Perhaps I should go cold turkey from the lounge. Not get a hair cut. Loose the suit and tie. Loose the fedora and buy a baseball cap. Wear it sideways. Loose the job. You know - become a good deadbeat! .... Nah!

I'm looking for a cap like the one is the following photo. If you will notice the fella on the right...his cap fits lower down on his head compared to the other two guys. Does anyone have a recommendation to a cap that fits a little fuller allowing it to come down to the tops of your ears and pulled down around your eyes? Notice how his fits compared to sitting more on top of your head like the other two fellas?

The fellow in the picture could be wearing a slightly oversized cap compared to the others.
Nothing beats trying on a cap in person to check the fit.
Something to bear in mind when purchasing hats.

I hear you on trying on a cap! There is nothing in my neck of the woods but pink Kangols and the like. I'm planning on a trip to Ireland in the next year or so but till then....nothing. Ordering can be so hit or miss. Was kind of hoping one of the vendors that knew their stock really well would be reading this thread...or someone in a similar situation.

Hi,

Although that would surely work, I think of something less radical: soak the crown and give it the tilt you like. I would expect it to tend to keep that shape. I have not actually tried this, but it looks like it could work.

Check out B! Wear (where ScionPI2005 got his cap). They make caps that will fit your requirements and are easy to work with.
