Are you looking for new or vintage? And your budget?

BTW, the suits that Cary wore in the Golden Era were cut a bit differently than those he wore in the 50's and 60's.

Charity shops! And vintage shops. Even British 'the High Steet' (Burton, Hepworth etc) tailors used to make good suits like those in the 50s and 60s.

Hi

Thanks to H.Johnson & Tomasso for your help

I've been to the charity shops etc and do have a few good suits but I have decided on new for this suit.
Hepworths, nows theres a blast from the past and Burtons Dont seem to tailor anymore.

I much prefer the baggier trousers, is the trick here I wonder to buy a bigger size then have the waist altered to my size?

I always recommend Rocacha Tailoring to Brits looking for a new suit. Their 40's DB is as close as I've seen a new suit get to that authentic 40's look. Team the jacket with a pair of their high-waisted Zoot trousers with the fishtail back.

It's run by a chap called Rob Crossley, and he does sell over the 'net and offers some basic fabrics in plain colours and chalk stripes, but he has a huge range of fabrics to view in his workshop. If you're in London, or can get in for the day, it's well worth a visit to see him. Plus he'll probably have some garments made up in your size for you to try.
