Bird Lives, please don't give up on the fedora. It's hardly for gamblers, but like anything you have to buy smart (same goes with anything, really).
In 1953, $20 had the same buying power as about $170 does today: That's a Heritage Grade Federation IV (superior to the robust, reliable...
Certainly has all the elements: Drama, suspense, intrigue, action. I'd say it counts!
The Walking Dead for me, AMC is running the entire second season as a marathon.
In my experience, even with a product applied, a wool hat in the rain will still turn into a shrunken, tapered, mess. Fur felt is the way to go, but you have to go quality. Akubra's are inexpensive rabbit felt hats that can take a deluge without flinching.
Beaver fur is the best for the...
That plan has the potential to be very, very expensive. Can't wait though! This is a very special project, and so I've asked many many (stupid) questions and been trying, I'm sure. Art's knowledge and patience have been and continue to be top class.
Does anyone actually do this? The only real tequila is a 100% agave reposado or anjeo, preferably neat, out of a tequila glass. "Gold" tequila is not only not tequila, but has caramel colouring in it as well!!
I had Maker's 46 on the 4th. I quite enjoyed it!
That's funny. I'm having a bottle of Double Wide right now lol
Same hat today as every day: Silverbelly modern OR that I was happily able to reshape thanks to a solid monsoon storm a couple days ago. I love felts in summer!
Watch this channel...there are some new bits of Hatwork in my...
Saw this thread after I saw the eBay store. I'm looking for a new device to maintain hat shape, not necessarily stretch it out to a new size. I have a Hat Jack, but I get the feeling that I'd like one that's a bit thicker.
Who has one? How do you like it? Should I go for the 2 1/4" or 2...
30 seconds max in an Arizona monsoon storm tonight. Modern Stetson Open Road. Its first time out in anything other than beating sun. Good thing, too, since I needed to do some work on the brim! Nothing like the smell of a fresh rain and a wet felt. :)
Feathers are next in my combo pack to try. My razor is a Merkur adjustable of some flavor or another. I'll try dialing it down to the least aggressive setting and give it another whirl. Thanks!
When I started getting into wet shaving, some folks over at Badger & Blade pointed me to this guy's videos. Saved my face to be sure! He originally started posting his tutorial videos on YouTube as "mantic59." The techniques to which I have referred can be found here, starting at marker 1:33...
Depends on what it is, of course, but it will absolutely make a difference. The question is whether it will make a positive difference or not. I'm currently in the middle of experimenting with 6 different brands of blades.
I'm glad to hear you had an awesome save this morning...
I noticed this, Eric, and I like the advice. But it got me thinking, in this day and age, wearing a tall crowned wide brimmed fedora isn't exactly inconspicuous. Won't stop me, though!
