Yep. 10-4.
Jimmy, EyeSee (IC), Mario, Mr. Paladin, & that Wise Guy in Daizawa...cool beans.
Today, my Barmah Skippy. No big deal. But wanted to type my condolences to Indy Cop.
Three Brent Black Panama Finos, two Akubras, four Resistols, three Stetsons, and one Barmah off the top of my head.
Oh, and a Davey Crockett faux racoon tailed hat I bought and wore around Disneyland just to embarass the sheet out of my kids ;)
Hi Sam...
You may be referring to my post about the guy looking for his first Panama. http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showpost.php?p=845173&postcount=10
My thought was, that perhaps, the store didn't have exactly what he was looking for. Example being; you could try on a stingy felt to see...
I agree with all that N-B13 stated. Go to a hat shop and try some hats out to see how they look on you. I, personally, do not think stingy brims work for me, but I like them nonetheless. My mom dresses me funny.
Being what you stated as your "first"; DEFINITELY go to a shop and try...
Well, I guess they're ok
Am working with Panama Bob on something with a wider brim. So, that implied recommendation; work with Panama Bob. Or Brent Black. My opinion is biased as they are the only two Panama dealers I have directly communicated with....but when you can deal...
Holy Toledo Torpedo. Cool pics.
I'm not a fan of feathers on headwear, but that little lady that I presume is your daughter, seems to like them in her hairband. ;)
Hey CRH, here are some pics I took of my Sqautter (Willow Green). The pic of my wearing it and the one on the stand are from yesterday. I was looking at the Squatter on the stand and thought, "the crown looks brownish". That somewhat got my attention. Turns out, I think it's the light in the...
That is sad.
Like HPG, I worked in the white shirt world. Managing (herding) two dozen plus coders, operators, and network personnel. All passed our background investigation...annually (bonded). Took two of my nice watches in to the office as I was going to take them in for service after...
Thanks Tone and Carlisle Blues Clues...
Giving the thread a "Goose Bump" (I stole that ;)).
So, I'm sitting here looking at the PDF file that ValEag refererenced for an Akubra Fedora in Fern Green. Wife comes home from shopping and hands me a Primo. My first one.
So, how cool is that...
Truly, how does one top that?
============================================================================
Seeing that lean green cool sombrero on Gene, I thought I'd wear my Sqautter (Willow Green) today...
Jeff....
I have a handful of Akubra bunnies. ALL of them, except my Casual, have the plastic.
My logic, and I'm no Yoda, is that the plastic keeps the oil from you noggin off the felt.
Well, whatever the reason, except for the crushable Casual, they have that.
Have read that some...
My Akubra Homburg is the hat I wear most in my felt rotation. While many purists, snobs, experts, whatever (insert here), may dismiss it...it is a hat I truly love. HEY!!! I'm not paranoid, so quit dissin' my lid!!!!! ;) Seriously, the Homburg is one, of not the first, of my top three lids...
What Mr. P said CRH :)
Yep Lark...that is a good pic.
Interesting, even in the Akubra Bogart thread itself, you don't see many pics of this hat on the noggin'.
Blackthorn...here's a black and a grey on a melon:

Completely agree. And with spraying a bit of water and wearing it a bit before you try anything else. Still, my Sydney pops the bash sometimes and none of my other hats do. It just way softer.
Maybe ValEag will chime in...he has two Fedora (Sydney) hats that he wears often.
Jeff....
Here's some pics of my Sydney. My first Akubra was the Sydney...over a decade ago.

If it feels good on you and YOU think it fits, then what the hell do I know?
Like that hot chick with the guitar sings; "If it makes you happy · It can't be that bad"...
If you are a 59+/- you should be ok with the 60 you ordered.
I wear a 60. My FIV Standards, are all 61. Ordered a bit large thinking they may shrink...but they haven't :) A liitle piece of foam (comes with them) and no problem at all.
My Deluxe lids are 60 and fit just fine.
Enjoy you...
