I'm the same. I have a professional-vintage feel on a daily basis. My husband thinks it's funny because I dress this way to go grocery shopping. I figure it's just as easy to wear slacks as it is ratty jeans...Frankly, I find slacks more comfortable than jeans.
I agree. Rats or falls/clip-on extensions. 2 out out of three of those pics, are definately not all hers. Falls and extensions are great! You can work wonders with them. I swear by them. ;)
When I was in high school, I use to use my mother's bonnet dryer (from when she was in high school) every night. I use to use it with giant rollers, to straighten my hair. It took well over 2 hours to dry. That's just way too much time and I have to wash my hair every day.
I bought a hard...
Funny, you mention that. I was in Vegas, a few weeks ago, and I happened upon the Betty Page store. I didn't know it existed. Cute stuff! It was loaded with all of her clothing. There was a few things I liked, but a lot of it was a bit too over-the-top for me.
Oh man...that sucks. I had a friend that had it. She went to a health food store and had gotten a bunch of products that were yeast-free/low in sugar. The doctor can give you medication to rid of it. It's probaby an antifungal, that you take orally. The doc suspected I had it (from years of...
Makes me think of the I Love Lucy episode (L.A. at last), where she meets William Holden. It's the one where she puts the putty on here nose to disguise herself, and it lights on fire, while Ricky lights her cigarette....classic.
:eusa_clap
I'm up in the air about it all. I've done both and can say I feel like a no one when I'm not working.
I am forced to be the housewife, with work that comes in spurts and I'm a care provider for my mother. I can honestly say, I hate being home.
My mother was the 50s stereotype housewife (before...
Sorry, I missed this. How I take mine is just by folding the fabric under the boning and hemming down each side of the boning, because I feared cutting the fabric. It worked! It was a lot easier then cutting too. Depending on the shape of the corset I start taking it in either under the arms or...
They actually started remaking these stencils (I forget the brand), in the states too. I tried them and didn't like them. I use eyebrow wax/cream with a tiny brush and when I used the stencil, the wax went right through it. I could have tried a pencil, but with what little eyebrows I have...
Right on, sister....I have just started collecting some pointies again....
Makes me miss my skull buckle/patent leather witch boots (alah edward scissor hands). ;)
I'm soo glad chunky heels are comming back...omg I'm in heaven! :p
I like Express' editor pant. I had gotten them in the high waisted/wide leg, last spring. THe belt kinda sucks though, they din't make the fastener right. Other than that, they're made well. I always wait for their stuff to go on clearance. I just can't afford $75 bucks on pants right now.
I...
I don't blame you. I wouldn't put anything on that I haven't smelled first. I find most old perfmes stink...just me maybe. They are just too strong.
My mom use to wear Chantilly and Emeraude and I never liked them, I felt they made her smell older than she is. Monroe may have liked Chanel...
8 oz. (a cup) is the idea of a glass...that's roughly 240 ml.
Personally, I hate water, but I have to drink it because of a stomach ailment.
I've been reading that doctors are rethinking the idea of drinking a lot water. I think everything is up in the air, as far as what's good for you...
That's what I meant. A lot of decorative thigh highs (unless there's a bow, then you'll know where the back one attaches) have to be straighted out, unless you don't mind the seam being sideways under foot. Why I haven't tried it. ;)
Back seams seem to be easier to eyeball first.
I use to work with someone that would attach the garter belt and nylons first, than put them on. I haven't tried it. It maybe easier with back seams because you can see where to attach them. Thigh highs seem more difficult to eyeball where to attach. I've been meaning to try it myself.
Agreed. It is very hard to find metal garter belts, in stores. I have one and they are a lot simpler than plastic...they are made better too.
Thigh highs are a bit more difficult to attach than nylons. The thicker the fabric, the bigger the pain in the butt. Sometimes I have to attach then...
Corsets are pretty easy to take in. I've done it and it was amazingly simpler than I thought it would be. I mean, it's a shot, considering you may not wear it again otherwise.
