    Tie Length, A Serious Matter

The iPhone! Technology never ceases to amaze me. Very 007. I'm sure the iPhone Shuffle could easily find it's place in a concealed tie compartment.

    Tie Length, A Serious Matter

What about the dreaded cell phone in a "suitcase". I had a history teacher that had one of those things. He used to take out that contraption in class and nearly hang out of the window. We were always tempted to give him a good push!! But we figured the long hideous paisley ties that he wore...

Will the i-Pod friendly tie be the "fad" of the 00's? I can't imagine wearing one of these, a tie with a pocket for your Nano!lol BTW, it does come in "extra" long to accomodate large knots.

    Necktie Knots

After all Chas is a Windsor!! As for his 60's look. That's 40 years ago BaronKurtz. He isn't the same man he was back then. A FIH with standard skinny semi-spread shirt collar was the standard look back then for everyone. But you do have a point regarding the collar. He shouldn't wear the...

    Necktie Knots

I tend to think that the opposite is true. A wide hefty knot makes a narrow head appear longer. And a small knot makes a wide head larger. Another factor to take into consideration is the lining and material of the tie. If you go with a small knot you need less bulk.

    Ella Fitzgerald Tribute

I was looking forward to hearing some good jazz. This PBS "Great Performance" was baad!! The only half decent performances were by Dave Kos, Natalie Cole, and Patty Austin. The rest of the performers did not belong in a salute to the Great Ella!! Where were some great jazz singers...

    Greaser jackets.

Grease Is The Word My girlfriend made me pose for this picture. Not very James Dean. More like Pacino! When my brother died last summer, my sister-in-law gave all of his vintage leather jackets to her plumber! She didn't even ask me if I wanted them.

    Broadway Melody

Zig, Is that all you can say about this landmark MGM Classic? This film is most notable for Judy Garland's performance of ""You Made Me Love You" (AKA "Dear Mr. Gable"), a tribute to Clark Gable. As for the title song "Broadway Melody", I remember seeing it performed in an "Our Gang"...

    Tie Length, A Serious Matter

Tie length is a serious matter. We look like clowns if the tie falls either too short or too long. The tie falling to the proper point is as important as shirt cuff length, trouser length, jacket length, etc. For a balanced tie, one strives for the broad end to end just short off the waist...

    Tipping Your Hat

Yesterday, I heard an elderly gentleman say: "If you don't wear a hat, how can you take it off to say hello?" Loungers, What is the reason behind the tradition of tipping one's hat? For my own part, when I first went to prep school, I wore a the typical English schoolboy's cap (which I...
