Hey guys, I recently bought this on eBay, however, it's a tad too small for me. I measure as a 41" chest, but typically wear a 38R in suits/coats. This is a slim coat, especially in the waist.
Description:
Authentic Naval Officer's bridge coat / peacoat. The quality of this coat is unrivalled...
It's actually blocked to 5 3/4 he said. It feels tall though. It probably has to do with the brim being smaller and giving it the illusion of being taller.
I will post more shots soon, but here's my new Gannon I got last week. Absolutely in love with it. His block must be a longer oval, because it fits like a glove. The quality is phenomenal.
The crown is VERY high too, I bashed a diamond into it at around 11cm in the front and 9 in the back...
Quick sweatband question: When sewing the sweat together (cutting to size and connecting it), I've sewn only one so far by hand, but was curious if anyone is using a standard sewing machine instead? I've tried searching, but to no avail.
This is good to know and makes sense because my block+flange combo is a matching set and works perfectly. It's only designed for making stingy brims :(
Thanks for all the input guys! This is so helpful! Now I'll go back to scouting eBay :)
I am looking into buying a brim flange marked 2 1/4. Does that mean it can block or form a brim UP TO 2 1/4 or would it also work for my 2 1/2 brim hat?

Hey all, just thought I'd post something.
Since I'm waiting on my Gannon and saving up for an Alley Kat, I decided to try my hand at hatmaking. Been in love with hats since I was 18. Long story short, I've been buying materials and tools over the past few months to get ready to make a hat—it's...
Funny you say that, I had just removed the spacers I had in there before the photo to allow more stretching. But ended up putting spacer only on the sides to make up for the long oval vs oval. I'm def a more narrow oval than the Fed comes from the factory.
So, good observation and 100% right...
