In Finnish its vetoketju i.e. pull-chain probably translated from the Swedish dragkedja, whereas they also use blixtlås i.e. lightning-lock as well, Norwegians say glidelås... beloved child got many names ;)
They sell on Ebay... was it under "Noble House", a lot of other styles too (Luftwaffes in various styles). Just mind anyone buying check the country/currency as they're not always up to speed with the pound/euro rates. Just been browsing the bay and found "Spearhead Militaria" from Singapore...
So those of you wanting to go for the "Dr. Zhivago" -look, heres a find.
I don't remember what the "notchless" collar style is called, but this isn't something that walks past daily. The collar is otherwise black except it grays towards the button end. The lining is clean and without...
I just wonder howcome all the pictures I try to "pose" for I end up looking like a pillock?
Pretty heavyweight stuff all in all. The sleeve straps are a tad bit too high, but I really can't be bothered try lower them right now...
BTW I've got a leather peacoat I might be willing to part with...
Well, I just got my new DrWho jacket back from the shoemaker's. Had to let down the sleeves a bit and get them stitched a bit. It still needs a bit of work to conform, but for GBP 99 I'm a pretty happy camper. I got it from a place called www.hollywoodjackets.co.uk and the only gripes I've had...
Applying the decal and fixing it on is then again something I'd like to hear more about. Like how to clean the underneaths, how to fix it (using lacquer is really a job I cringe though I've done something like that when I was younger)
PS. Gustl... whats with the hairy armpit?
Well, my "XXL" harrington is worn by my nephew as the bloody limeys can't do their sizes right - selling a 46 as an XXL which is 50 is bloody offensive to the fat gits. For a fat geezer like me you only get the swishy washy ma-1 jackets that then require boots and braces... nix gut. I'm half...
I had a one of those faux leather 1970's trilby style lids that had the most annoying centre "knot" in the middle where all the seams met. And it was actually poking a hole into my scalp - being plastic and all - so I glued a piece of foam rubber there... hate newsboy caps for the same reason...
Oh, I need to keep to my hats, I've lost a few that way with females :)
And he's still got all his teeth and digits present? Man, you guys are liberal.
As I can recognize the post box as one of ours, what can I say... Finns do drink themselves wheelless... err... ummm..
Wearing hats isn't that usual here, but not that uncommon if its some occasion say funerals you see everyone wearing their granddads "Eden", but flat caps or tweed trilbys...
Totally rad, the kradjacke!
Though for the buttos, I'd go with the leathered buttons rather than the open ones... depends if you want 1928 or 1948 style though..
But totally a wicked good one! The cuffs are my fave details!
As for the fastening, which hand do you use to get stuff from the...
I've been rummaging my attic and storage and flogging off stuff I don't wear and then deciding if I have any keepers. So I have this suede sports coat, grey like "Junior" in "Miami Blues" but I can't go molesting the missionaries nor sweettalking girls who want a BurgerKing franchise as its like...
This seems to be an "UK thing" for me, as I buy from Germany and UK and occasionally the US, and UK - even new stuiff - has that mothball smell. A few weeks on the balcony do wonders ;)
Hmmm... the only place where we meet is a navy peacoat, but I classify mine as "winter coat" as its oversized to fit a sweater and a tweed blazer...
1. Got a bit naff modern Cooper G1 only
2. Mine is brown (though I have a Hein Gericke suit that has a semi-wearable jacket)
3. Och aye.
4...
Well it is as always that truth is weirder than fiction. The idea is absurd to some people - the Laurel and Hardy film "Block-Heads" from 1938 has that as a starting scene - Laurel is left into the trench in WWI and continues to patrol for 20 years not knowing the war is over.
But I think...
