That´s what I have supposed, speaks for you imho.
I have 2 yards John Molloy Tweed shipped to me in forrest green... this one may look good in a zippered version with one of my NOS conmar brass zippers.
I also have some brown herringbone tweed in stock with some nice vintage horn buttons...
It is a pretty simple thing to make as it´s not really fitted with his pretty boxy cut.
And the price for a RRL vest like this is imho absurd... speaking in "FL currency" it´s about 1/3 of an Aero jacket?
Artisanry spoken: Making a good shirt e. g. is much more ambitious like those vests.
Go to...
Bruce: That depends on things like shirt size, fabric width, matching pattern (if cloth is patterned).
Looking at your picture you need a bigger size I guess.
Following is from a 40s shirt pattern I have:
Folder cleared.
Florian... seriously... you have to work on your casual side and try to be more outgoing. Be rockabilly-ish, be wild, wear some loop collar shirts over your slacks... wear poly and spread some 50s flavor sweat
Great picture, Florian... two dashing gents get a cooling with a beer!
Imho loop collar shirts look better than regular shirts when worn over the pants.
If you don´t mind please clear your folder... wash´t aible to write you a message
Thank you guys!

A few years...
Finished yesterday... needs to be ironed properly:
US Army style shirt with darted back. Brown buttons come from a similar 1940s shirt in unwearable condition.
Thank you TomS... feel free to choose one ;)
The polka dotted fabric arived it´s made with the Stifel/ Blaudruck method. It´s a bit to lightweight for my taste so it has to be interfaced.
Blaudruck: With a bit more time I will make some research next week to see if theres something similar to...
Thanks for that information, Wiser Hatter!
Okay...so we speak from Blaudruck and Stifel Fabrics on the same level... Blaudruck Fabric is not that hard to get... so it´s more about the pattern and the price... this stuff is pricey
Flat Foot: I know Blaudruck. It was common here in northern Germany and I also know it from Hungary... I´ve seen how it is made.
In Blaudruck (simply said) the pattern is a result of stamping the undyed fabric and give it some soaks in indigo... the pattern is the undyed part.
As I know wabash/...
Thank you Flat Foot! Interesting stuff...I also realize that I tend to like the 40s stuff more and more... guess I´m not a strict "rockabilly guy" anymore... hahaha.
I´ve already mentioned that i need a Cordova cap too:D
Bruce: Your Cap is under construction and will surely suit you as well as the one you already have :)
