    No hatred, just as you say an evaluation of the pros and cons for my particular circumstance which come down on the side of foregoing the umbrella.

    This works for me. Never had any issues covering a suit. My office is on Wall Street, fwiw, in prime Canyon Wind country, where on rainy days umbrellas scamper about like civilized tumbleweeds. But of course YMMV.
