Lowa renegade mid would be my choice.
After years of bumming round in trainers and hi-tec boots for walking I got some renegades for proper walking and hiking now all my trainers and other boots are surplus to requirements. The lowas are as comfortable as trainers but with the ankle support of...
ALEXANDER LEATHER COMPANY LIMITED Changed it's name to SIMMONS BILT CLOTHING COMPANY LT on 03/02/15 according to companies house.
So why are they still calling themselves Alexander leathers on their website and when making statements/issuing threats and presumably taking payments, orders etc...

If you have the tool to fix the studs with the best place to get barbour press studs is barbour.
I got a old nato issue international jacket off ebay which was in almost perfect nick even down to still having it's factory fresh wax and papers with it but two of the press studs had the...
Aerojoe, I had one of the belstaff ones from the eighties...second hand so I assumed it was early to mid eighties.
The thing was nothing like the ones they turn out these days, it was cut just the same as the wax cotton ones so was very low under the armpits with baggy sleeves for movement but...
Dyeing the leather would be a peice of cake ....feibings medium brown would be a nice rich reddish brownto use.
The problem is ,assuming they use bonded nylon thread, you would end up with a brown leather jacket with white stitching and zip tapes.
Regards Tony
Yep ...the chest pockets are high and the slant was so you could get a map or pace notes out easier without shredding the stuff...the more extreme slant of the barbour works a lot better than the belstaff for me...for a fly box.
I have big compound feed sewing machine so I can make my own in quite heavy leather so I don't need to get someone to make me one it was just going to be as a courtesy to Will as he talked me through certain things about sewing leather garments but with all the things that I have heard since I...
Gawd 'elp us...they have made a dogs dinner of that one......the ONLY thing I liked about the belstaff was the shoulder and elbow detail and with that gone it is pointless. The angle of the left breast pocket makes sence to me as the belstaff ones are too high and too tight for my big irish...
Will at alexander leathers is making a jacket lets say inspired by the belstaff for someone now so I guess it will be available for general sale once done, and love him or loath him after the aero storse carry on and all the other stuff yet to emerge, it will probably be the best made of that...
If you can live with the fact that they are clip on replacements rather than neat proper new zips have a look for "prym zip pulls" on google.
Not quite as neat but the easiest and cheapest option by a mile and no unpicking a seem to get at a zip to take the slider off or full zip replacement.
Cracking jacket and it couldn't fit any better if it had been made for you but just one word of advice, speaking from experience, if it is like deerskin NEVER leave it on a hanger for any length of time, always lay it down somewhere or the shoulders can stretch out of shape.
People say that...
Chromexcel horsehide...the same as aero use.
He bought direct from horween which is not fun but ,for you lot over the pond at least, they have opened a site called tannery row where pivate punters can buy small orders direct....been so long since I last posted I can't remember how to post links...
Cuthbert I was watching Magnum Force (second dirty harry film)the other night and when David Soul was going to "work" he picked up his CHP jacket and the full gun/equipment belt was worn on the jacket held in place with the jacket's belt loops so the whole lot was put on as one item. So I guess...
The bloke hasn't died, he just isn't working for aero anymore.
He isn't going to disappear out of the leather jacket business it is just that he has to start up again and with his outlook on customer service and "general good guy to deal with" reputation I think once he is back in the game he...
I like that but wouldn't fancy trying to keep it clean though but I take it that isn't the plan. I have enough trouble keeping smoke deer cleanish.
Is elk like thick deer skin IE.is the bit of suede on the zip pull like velvet or more like cow suede, because if it is I might be after some to...
I was talking with Will at aero last year and he mentioned the stuff , I had never heard of it so asked him what it was like and as it was an antelope i asked him if it was like deer and he just laughed and said "hhmmm yeah a deer that has had a really hard life might not be a bad way to...
The best bet might have been to heat the leather very local to the "damage " to get some of the wax and oil to leaach out to the surface and then buff a bit but to be honest with you chromexcel is made to show wear and tear as much as possibe and that combined with what you have done to"fix"...
