Best hat or hats to take to Disney

Wow, interesting. I have felt hats, not the Fed IV, but I have always well, "felt" they were way too hot in the strong heat and sun of the summer. Always grabbed a vented straw, although would second or third the Tilley, though not terribly stylish. R

Beautiful Montichristi David - and more importantly, you look great wearing it. I think the secret of looking great in a great hat is more than owning that great hat - it's making sure it suits your face/skin tone, etc, as well as kinda compliments, blends well with your shirt, jacket...

"Esther the color of that fine fuzzy felt is amazing! Super look for you!!" Last edited by hatsRme; Today at 11:31 AM. Agree - once again, great look, but its the color of Esther's hat matching the color of her eyes that ties it together perfectly. R

Agree again, but is there any hat that Alan hasn't shown us that doesn't suit him well?:) Spectacular collection. R

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Thanks Tommy. But I'm still scratching my hatless head as to what makes the Akruba the more durable/weather resistant hat? R

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Hmmmnnn, so what I am gathering here is that don't wear that Stretson Strat in the rain? I am assuming they use the same type materials on their "cowboy" hats and if nothing else, aren't those cowboy hats are meant to be worn in any type weather without being ruined? What is it about the...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

As always, great looking hats on display here. Yesterday, I went to the Orvis wing-shooting class in Millbrook NY and that sun was beating down strongly. I brought my Tessi sisol, but that hard snap down lid which would have gotten in the way of sighting the gun. Yes, I know, I could have...

Question regarding Stratoliners - What is the difference between the Royal Quality Strats and the Premier Quality Strats? R

Thanks Gentlemen. I posted something similar in another thread, but are these hats - CD, OR or the Strat for that matter, suitable for inclement weather? I'm not talking about a monsoon, but I'm thinking getting caught in moderate rain or snow - without the umbrella, and standing up to that. R

Interesting! Such an iconic American hat like the OR, made elsewhere. Why is the newer CD better than the OR? R

DUH! Sorry, Dave. I was looking at the Campdraft, not the OR. Next time I'm there, I will take a look at the OR. In the meantime, I like this one: http://www.jjhatcenter.com/collections/felt-hats/products/the-explorer-in-brown OR maybe silverbelly, or fawn, or grey, or........... R

Roger, Thanks. My first venture into Fedoraland was about 25 years ago - bought a Borsalino Allesandria at JJ's . I never felt it looked right on me. Felt the crown was just too high for me. About 2 years ago, one of my friends asked to see it on me. Both he and his wife said the same thing...

Thanks, Dave. Get it at JJ's? Pretty nice place. Bought my first hat there about 25 or more years ago.

Premier Strat in "Cornhill" (who thinks up these names?) color - bought at JJ Hat Center. Too warm outside to really appreciate it - but Fall is around the corner... I think for me, this is about the widest brim and tallest crowns. I tried the OR, and loved the hat, but that crown is tool high...

Nope, I don't think so, Bob. I have the same one in a different color that I bought a few months ago. I think it's just the nature of that particular company's choice of material or rather how they shape it. Bob

Thanks Bob. It's their copper color and frankly, the pictures (too small) aren't doing it justice. I'll take a better one tomorrow. This sisol has a hard, deep snap brim - not as much adjustability as I would like, but it works. It's very, very light in weight with an open weave - which works...
