What can I wear a wool tie with?

I just bought a couple of wool ties with my grandmother's family tartan on them, but I'm not sure what I can wear them with. I generally see them being worn with tweed, which I don't have yet. What else can they be worn with? Can they be worn with suits?

What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

I just watched The Hudsucker Proxy for the first time. I had mixed feelings on it; I like the pastiche of eras and styles, but it ultimately felt fairly artificial and soulless.. I usually enjoy Cohen Brothers movies too... (And Sam Raimi, as well.) Then again, I just watched His Girl Friday...

    French Cuffs

I just got my first french cuff shirt and took it in to the cleaners to get pressed, and when I got it back, I noticed the double cuff was pressed flat instead of folded and pressed... Is this correct or have these cleaners just never seen a french cuff shirt before?

    Classic Style for the Colorblind?

Well, I'm slowly building my wardrobe because I'm in the process of dropping weight (50 lbs down and at least another 50 to go). Right now I have a blue worsted suit (and an odd set of trousers for the suit jacket) and a grey check suit. Once I get to my ideal weight, I plan on investing in...

    Classic Style for the Colorblind?

Seven to ten percent of men are colorblind; surely some of them (besides myself) are interested in dressing well. What tactics do you use to avoid clashing? I've just started dressing well (my prior uniform was either jeans or cargo shorts, usually with a black t-shirt), and I'd like your...
