I have a pleater, well two infact! One fits most oldish Singer machines and the other is for my Janome 6600 so it's throughly modern! They tend to be called rufflers now but I think you can still get some that will fit lots of machines. I don't know why they call them rufflers, they do...
It seems there's more and more people complaining of non paying customers recently. It's quite discouraging in ways. Hopefully the new measures they're bringing in will make it happen less...
Hi!
I'm not new, but I've never been a very active member, more of a lurker really!
I'm just about to give up my full time job as it's taking up too my much my life and taking a couple of months off, so I'm anticipating MUCH more time here and more posting.
So, hello again to everyone...
I actually just did a millinery course with her in London! She had come over from Italy for the week to be a student on it at London College of Fashion. She's a lovely girl and obviously very talented and creative.
This is an interesting thread to read as off the back of that course I'm...

I will be doing that, I just need suggestions first as I find make up counters mindboggling at times because of the sheer volume of choice! MAC counters seem few and far between outside of London, but luckily I'm moving there in two weeks so I'll be spoiled then ;)
Can anyone suggest a slightyly orangey red for me? Only a slight orange tinge though. I love Ruby Woo but I smile with it on and my teeth look disgusting as they aren't very white, typical British teeth I'm afraid!
I've found that pre-curving bias tape helps with really tight corners. I use my nails to start stretching it around the curve (folding it the way it will be on the fabric) then get my steam iron out and use the steam to help it further. If that fails I use a narrower tape!
*How long have you been sewing?
In one way or another, 30 years
*How did you learn to sew?
I guess it was my mum initially, but since the very early days of learning to put the needle in and out of the fabric, it was school and college.
*What was the first project you made that you...
