    Hat storage

I'm going to live in the states next year, and I have about 20 hats that needs to be stacked away somehow. I haven't got any hat boxes, and I need an advice on how to best store them for a year without use? Is there any sort of plastic or something that they should be wrapped in? :eusa_doh...

Only way to make something new look real classy is to put it in a golden era environment. Sure works, though :p

    Dating DB Overcoat

Between which years is that period of 50 years? My thoughts when I saw it at first was 40's, but what you mean is that it might be both older and newer, because Europe didn't have distinct eras of style?

    Help dating hat?

Yesterday I walked into a thrift shop that I regularly visit. And this day they had a hat for sale (which is a seldom sight). I got the hat cheap together with some other stuff. And of course I am curious about the age of the hat, and was wondering if anyone in this highly qualified forum could...

    A little steam

This is my first show off post at the Fedora Lounge:p I've been a member of the Fedora Lounge for a while, and asked some questions, but now I will post some pics of a hat i bought today for 3$. It's amazing what a little steaming and brushing can do. I also took the ribbon from a cheap wool hat...

    Top Hat

I have inherited an old top hat, and it is a bit too small. Is there any way you can stretch or widen a top hat? Probably there is not, but i had to ask![huh]

    New Achievments

I see. But can I make a template of my head size in wood (just a bit smaller for the first stretch) and the steam the hat and pull it over the template for drying, and after that pull it over a slightly larger template for the last stretch?

    New Achievments

Today I visited the local mens wear shop, where they actually had some fur felt hats that were for sale very cheap (because no one wears hats in the countryside in Norway anymore). And I couldn't let that chance pass by. So I bought two hats that the seller told me was probably from the 50's or...

This is how I think I will keep it for now. I am quite satisfied, the spray-bottle worked nice. ;) That Borsalino Homburg is very nice, suits you good!

    Homburg with dents

I am considering giving my Homburg side dents. What do you guys think? I have no experience working with the crown on hats. How do i make the dents permanent? The hat is made of wool, is there any chance it might shrink or get ruined in any way? Thanks for any help!:)

    Help with hat bulk

I may be a perfectionist wanting to fix this. Because it's not a major problem. But because the hat is made of wool felt, will the whole hat shrink if it gets steamed to much? Or do I just have to be careful about steaming only the brim?
