Head Shot
The hat was inspired in no small part by daizawaguy's collection here from post 2861 in this thread, as well as a "barn-door" ribbon treatment from another lounger whose photo has since disappeared from the thread.
Hello Gents, It has been a long time since I've posted on the lounge. This was my last VS creation from 2016.
Cabernet felt with a gray ribbon. Raw brim, measures 2 1/4 inches. Crown measures 4 1/2 inches from brim to the top crease (the dip). Red Satin lining.
I named it "The Devil's Cut,"...
I had Art make this Black Cherry for me back in 2012 and I can't believe I never posted any pics of it on here. I know I took some pictures of it after a I got it, I must have just forgot to post them. Here are some nice pictures of it from today.
We've had quite a bit of rain the past over...
The first pic is probably the most color accurate. It looks the most purple under tungsten lights. Under florecent lights is looks a grey, plum. Here is a link to my photobucket page with more additional pics of the hat...
Thanks for the kind words, Mark! I appreciate it.
This hat is one of the more unique ones I've come across. I've never seen a color quite like it. The pics just do not capture how deep, dark and alive the purple is. A more accurate color adjective might be plum. The perception really changes...
This is a very used brown, Knox hat with a bound brim. This hat saw a lot of use before it got to me as you can see from the satin lining.
Brim: 6 8/10 cm
Ribbon: 1 5/8 in or (4.2cm?)
Price: $40 (shipping included) to CONUS via paypal

This is a size 7 Darwin hat. I am as close as you can get to a perfect size 7 and this is just the tiniest too tight on me, plus it sits too high on my head and diminishes me as it doesn't go with my facial features. Time to get rid of it. I can't remember if this was a long past ebay purchase...
Hey SBG, you mean the hat I named the Winterfell?
I've toyed with the brightness on these two pics. (I was running out of light quick!) It's color accurate enough for me.
Hmm..., My beard fell off near the end of winter.
Thank you for the kind words, SBG. I love the fact that it is...
These gorgeous Black Cherries are killing me! SpeedRcrX, that hat is absolute dynamite. Art works his magic again. :eusa_clap I'm glad I'm now in the que for a Black Cherry (to be my 2nd VS hat) before the cherry tree is picked clean (so to speak). Beautiful!
Joshbru3,
That write up is terrific, but that hat is MAGNIFICENT! I'm green with envy. ;) Sharing this specimen with us is much appreciated. Way to go, ART!
