Thanks to Lauren for posting this in Facebook! It's a 1936 film short in eye-melting technicolor, shot on Southern California's Santa Catalina Island. Look for Cary Grant, Randolph Scott, Erroll Flynn, Marion Davies, Mickey Rooney, and more!

What a treat! The music is great, the production values are first class, and everything else is pleasantly silly.

Particularly nice to see/hear the Sterling Young band, a good businessmen's bounce outfit who "transcribed" for the MacGregor "blue wax" library in the mid-late 30s. They play in Smooth Sailing.

Can you imagine how many packs of chewing gum Wrigley had to sell in order to build that place. :eusa_doh:

And "Captain Morris" is Chester Morris. One of my faves. I always enjoyed his Boston Blackie movies. His last film is the 1970 movie The Great White Hope with James Earl Jones.
