30's /40s bridesmaid frocks-help!

Help!
I'm helping with a 'faux' wartime wedding for a museum in the UK, original dress for the bride etc sorted and I have a lovely pattern for a bridesmaids dress, but I'm struggling.......what colours>>????
Help, suggestions on a postcard please!
