Hi all!

Does any of you have a A-1 with patches? Or have you seen pics of one?

Thankful for all help!

There is a great book by Derek Nelson and Dave Parsons titled “Hell-Bent for Leather” ISBN 0-87938-438-7, that shows a group of Navy pilots from VF-3 that have their squadron insignia painted on the back of their jackets. Its on page 25.

I had a custom repro that had an USAAC patch on the upper left sleeve if that counts... it was the yellow and blue rondel spiral propeller thingy, I forget what it's called now  .. the jacket's been gone a while now though.

A-1's with patches

There's a book published sometime ago titled "Cowboys of The Sky" which was put out by Jeff Clyman of the Cockpit company in New York,on pages 20 and 21 there are two photos of A-1s with patches on them.
Also a great book if you can find one for various photos of leather jackets of the war era !
