He was amazing. Wife and I watched The Apostle tonight in honor of him. Another brilliant performance. Wore a nice fedora in it too, but not as striking as the Gus hat in Lonesome Dove.

In the tribute to him I saw on TV they never even mentioned his authentic western character acting in Lonesome Dove, Broken Trail or Open Range.
