AAF patch. Authentic??

I found this Army Air-corps patch in a house I lived in. It is thick and soft, Is it authentic? I've put it by my old credit card for size (it is a no longer valid bank account). Is it for a shirt, an A2, or a blouse?

It does look like an original to me. These patches were worn mainly on unform cloth jackets, but they do appear on shirts and on A2 jackets from time to time.
