Abondoned America

Here's another site devoted to abondoned places. Reading about some of the fantastic buildings that are scheduled for demolition makes me ill. There's a cathedral located in Phildelphia that was built in 1848 that is just a wonderful example of the Gothic style in the US, that it's mind boggling that it may be destroyed. Progress I suppose.

Thank you for the links - I had a quick look (beautiful photographs) but I can't bring myself to look at these beautiful buildings knowing that they are awaiting the wrecking ball - it's heartbreaking....

It's so sad to see these places sitting empty, especially the houses. The fact that they sit dormant after all the life that has passed through them over the years just hits me for some reason.
