That looks better than many a custom fit. Perfect. Done. Move on, don't look back and get out of here while you still can.

Alex, please heed the advice from the long-time members and save yourself a lot of frustration...This jacket looks great on you, and it’ll only get better the more you beat it up. Wear it hard and have fun!

That fit looks spot on in my opinion. I prefer a little longer fit than some and this looks perfect to me. Even appears to have a little breathing room for layering if needed. I wouldn't change a thing. Congrats!! Welcome to The Mania :eek::eek:!!!

Welcome to the lounge! I think it fits you perfectly and it allows layering in Autumn/Winter. Congrats!

    Thanks all!

Just to be clear: this jacket is a keeper! I’m taking advice for future orders (which will be additions not replacements...)

    cheers!

Every aspect of the fit appears optimal and wouldn't change a thing, including sleeve or body lengths. For your next jacket maybe consider a Board Racer in black Vicenza that should work well with your stick-shaped frame. Although Thurston Bros. prefers a tartan body shell linings, I much prefer cotton drill over just about anything else, although cotton sateen lining would not necessarily be off the table for me.

Looks great. I cant really see anything that would to be tweaked in a future order. As a few of the guys have mentioned, these jackets do mould over time so the fit will just get more and more comfortable.

  8. Don't listen to these folks who try to run you off from leather jacket fun. You now need an Aero Bootlegger, and Teamster at least. Then there is Thedi...OMG YES...look at Thedi..!! They are devilishly stylish and a must buy..!! You'll need at least two or three of those..!! ...And there is etc etc etc...;):):D:p

The fit looks great. I found the collar on my PHWM was similarly uncomfortable at first. I sprayed it with some water and rounded the opening around my neck a bit and let it dry out while wearing it and it improved the comfort a lot. Assume this would probably happen in time with wear anyway but this fixed the feel pretty much immediately. Good luck.

    10. Period. You won’t do better. Wear that one for life. Repair it in 2 decades. Leave TFL now. No, seriously, this place is like if meth and coke had a baby.

Haha...Man, you guys are funny with all the "run while you still can..." warnings! Duly noted. But, well, too late I suppose....

See, as I mentioned at first, I ordered this jacket as a fit jacket, but because it worked so well I kept it. However, since I had prepared in my mind to get a custom jacket (the leather on this fit jacket wasn't my first choice, but I do love it...don't get me wrong...), I put down a deposit on a custom Hooch Hauler as well. So I have the HH coming in the fall...and if that goes well, I have plans to return to this premier-pattern jacket style (and thus this post about fit, as in my best case scenario, the accumulation of 3 or 4 jackets is about the variety of leather/color, rather than chasing a fictional notion of "perfect" fit)..

Anyway, while this might be a rabbit-hole obsession that is perhaps a bit unhealthy, at least for the time being it is much easier on my mind and wallet than the watch and tailored clothing habit it is replacing...haha (but it also fills a needed utility function for me as well, so...).

I guess there is just a certain "collector" personality that some folks have (me), for better or worse, where, it's as much about the research and 'hunt' as it is in the actual "having" perhaps?

Again, thanks for all the tips!

We call it the “TFL Effect”, and most of us have it pretty bad.

Not to mention CX Steerhide, CXL Front Quarter Horse Hide, Vicenza, and maybe even Bainbridge. :)

I find that if I 'walk away' and stop reading about or looking at photos of the things I like, my interest in them completely reduces. A hobby is like a fire, if you stoke it and give it fuel, it will roar. Be careful you don't get burnt. :D I have wasted too much money and time on jackets and I don't even have it bad.

PHWM is a tough nut to crack. It’s just a bag of leather from the pits down. I thought I could defeat that “flaw” by tapering the waist. Nope. Sold it. The thing with the PHWM is you just have to accept it for what it is. Yours looks good and fits great. It’s not a tailored/ fitted jacket, nor is it meant to be.
