Am i crazy for even thinking this?!?!?!

i have a black miller raiders that i have rebashed into a streets-of-cario scene. no one wants to buy it, so i have been looking at it day after day sitting on my shelf & i got to thinking, hwo hard would it be to sand off the "fuzz", the little stray fibers that sit above the main body of the felt? i was thinking of going with 1k grit so that i can take it slowly & not ruin it.
what does everyone else think?

Search the Lounge for "pouncing" or "repouncing". I think a number of people here have succeeded in performing the operation you describe.

Going over the hat with sandpaper is supposed to be part of the finishing process when a hat is made. It's called "pouncing." You're therefore not crazy, for thinking of it.
