I prefer my 5* for office work attire. What do we think? I’m probably going to move it along. View attachment 650781 View attachment 650782 View attachment 650783

honestly the jacket is too big on you. the waist looks huge, and when zipped there is still vertical dimple along the shoulder on the front showing it is also too wide across the chest, perhaps a size smaller will do better and also probably comes shorter by default. What do we think? Your 5* has a coherent design. The Schott has some design features of an Aviator and the shape of a coat.I prefer my 5* for office work attire. View attachment 650784

Someone who doesn't know anything about jacket design (=most people) will say it's a nice looking jacket.

I appreciate that you took your time and let my comment fester and really sink in before quoting it. Twice. You’re an utterly miserable human being who spends his time insulting people on message boards. No wonder why I ignore your content! There’s nothing of value! Go on about your business of insulting strangers to make yourself feel better about being an epic loser with small **** energy. Ill just keep ignoring it
Hahaha it’s meant for a taller man such as yourself. It looks so big, as if it could fit me![]()
Yes and No. I would hang on to it until something else comes up in the same ball park, like another aviator style that actually fits different, before unloading this one. What do we think? I’m probably going to move it along. View attachment 650781 View attachment 650782 View attachment 650783
I'm impressed by so many things right now.Yes and No. I would hang on to it until something else comes up in the same ball park, like another aviator style that actually fits different, before unloading this one.
The pigment Shinki also has a wax top coat which needs a slight break in for the drape to improve too.
There was another one of this jacket in another thread and my feeling is the same in both cases. If you go down a size it might become too tight. But the current one is also not ideal, it's missing the half belt cinch and an inch too long.
A quick fix imo is to install a pair of waist cinch at the half belt, to bring in the waist to get that drop 4" to the waist before flaring out at the hem back to 2" drop.
A lot of cross zips on the market is shaped like this and sized like this. Without going custom I have not run into an off rack aviator cross zip that has more taper or shorter.

Jacket 2 to 3 are both size 44 (1930s), so shoulder is 18.5" plus or minus 0.25", P2P is 22.5" plus or minus 0.25", Hem is 21.5" plus or minus 0.25". Jacket 4 is size 42 (1930s), I think the Schott Shinki Medium is size 41 (1930s) so these two will be very close. This is why I assume going down one alpha size may be too uncomfortable.
Jacket 3 is gonna be very similar to your Large Shinki Schott except the sleeves are more rotated towards the front , but the overall width and length is exactly the same as your Schott I assume.
Jacket 2 is same as jacket 3 with sleeve rotated back like your Schott, the main difference here is the additional waist cinch which I am using, and minus one inch length! This is what the Shinki Schott could have been - minus one inch length and add waist cinches.
Jacket 1 is just shorter and more taper and is based off a motorcycle jacket, which also has bigger sleeve than the aviators I find. For aviators I actually don't think it's necessary to go as short or taper as the motorcycle jackets. It could, but not neccesary.
Honestly I think just wear it first, and wait for another aviator that is one inch shorter with waist cinch to show up. In the worst case scenario you can always get it shortened and add the waist cinch, but wear it first just to make sure.
Life is ****ing incredible isn't it!I'm impressed by so many things right now.
The way you document these jackets and their fit in photos. You've taken a lot of care with this.Life is ****ing incredible isn't it!
John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.

C Panda, you should make a web catalogue, you tried so many jackets, from so many makers, even various chinese brands, the fit comparison is amazing vault of knowledge, thank you for your input to the communityYes and No. I would hang on to it until something else comes up in the same ball park, like another aviator style that actually fits different, before unloading this one.
