Do tea core jackets continue to patina even after the initial black coat wears off?

After tea-coring, I would assume the light brown / tobacco would continue to patina and darken since it’s veg-tanned, but I’ve never really seen a picture that shows “fresh” vs “aged” brown.

What is the best product that might darken a faded black leather jacket ? Usually the question is ….. might NOT darken a jacket. This one is faded but I’m not looking to dye it . I’m looking for a cleaner/ conditioner that will darken a faded black jacket . TYIA

Sugar Cane's Indian motorcycle Ranger vs Lost Worlds' speed demon. Which one do you prefer and why?
I've handled and handled both LW's HH leather and SC's HH black teacore (yellowish underneath the pigment) and both are what I want for a cross zip to absolutely beat up in concerts, but I have never handled the (seemingly dyed through?) SC HH they used on your Ranger.

Amusingly enough, I... am actually having trouble deciding. If it was any other jacket, I would've said Speed Demon but the Indian Ranger was so cool that I don't know what to tell you. Ranger looked slightly better - fancier, perhaps - while appearing to be as sturdy as the LW but the LW was an absolute zenith of workmanship & quality in every possible aspect. I honestly cannot decide.

Although, I don't recall my SC being dyed all the way through. I distinctly recall the stitch holes being brown, where the top coating was punctured.

I love Stu's jackets as they're absolute tanks, but I imo the japanese makers just have this extra something I can't explain.
Might be because of my asian body but Phigvel, TFH, RC and SC all fit me better than LW at the same pit to pit and shoulder width.
Maybe the higher armholes ?
Anyway I think I'll be on the hunt for my grail cross zip now, an indian ranger by SC.

Can anybody tell me anything about this leather? This is not anything high end but I am thinking to take it on the semi as a work jacket. I just absolutely soaked it in water and the inside remained dry as a bone. Once dry, the outside also looks totally untouched by the experience.

This is very soft leather - maybe it's sheep skin? Made in Indonesia for Hein Gericke and distributed in the U.S. by First Gear, I believe it is from the 90s.

I have a G-1 for my everyday wear on the truck, but this one has three details that I like for actually working the flatbeds (specifically strapping, chaining and tarping loads): it's apparent high water resistance; it's warm removable liner for winter months and very well-thought out ventilation system for warmer months; and it's extreme comfort, allowing me total freedom of movement.

I also like that it's not anything high end and if it gets destroyed I won't be upset.

I guess my question is, is there something about this jacket that I am not considering that makes it unsuitable as a work jacket?

Could anyone advise what is the best way of temporary storing leather jacket when I am at work or in restaurant? Currently I am bending it longitudinally (paralel to sleeves) and keeping it on the floor/ desk/ or backpack. Is there anything better I can do (assuming I do not have a hanger)?

Cafefully roll it in, making sure the sleeves are folded in longwise. At the end, it should look like a burrito. This is the way I have stored jackets in plastic containers in the past.

I wouldn't overthink it personally I usually just toss my jackets in my locker if at school. Otherwise I hang it over a chair if there is one free(and no racks with hangers) or I just use the floor if needed(and it's not super nasty haha), but in the end it's just a jacket so don't worry about it

Very good point. It is just a jacket. I started to treat it as something exceptional but it should be something useful first. The jacket is for me, not I am for the jacket.

piggy backing is i am still trying to figure is if there is a point when a teacore patina is turning to crack damaged leather. My jacket and boots are slowly peaking since i get nervous and reach for conditioner. Snow shoveling is like teacore nox (hopefully teacore and not cracking)

Difficult to tell from only that but 70s looks possible — this font was in use then and I've seen similar tags on other jackets of the era. There were a lot of different variants going around then.
