I have a Schott 613S Double rider jacket. Great jacket, but it’s just too flashy to wear it. Thinking of removing the belt, but keep the epaulets to increase my wear frequency. What do you guy think?

Your best bet imo is to sell it off and put the money towards a different jacket you feel is more versatile. Don't go cutting stuff off, it's probably not going to look great.

If I can add my thoughts - I agree with @Khilij, unless you send the jacket to someone who is going to take it apart and remove the belt the right way it's not going to look right no matter how closely you cut it. You might try calling Dena Hamilton at Leather Care Specialist in Illinois and get her opinion, and maybe a quote.

I would leave the jacket as is. If you consider it too flashy, try to wear another style, or beltless x-zips jackets. Just wondering, what part do you think looks too garish—the belt when it’s undone, or the buckle?

The belt and the buckle. I already installed a button to secure the buckle. But it’s still there along with the belt fold in. I like everything about the steer hide Schott 613S but the complex of the belt

Gentlemen,

I am having a hard time choosing between the N-1 deck jacket from RMC or IH for the upcoming winter here in Minnesota. The prices are very close (RMC: $815 and IH: $790). I like the IH for its internal pocket and have seen some positive reviews on YouTube. However, I prefer the authentic design of the RMC, especially the front pockets.

Your thoughts? Thanks!

Thanks Sir! I am still learning these JP search sites. Do you happen to see one in khaki color?

Hey guys, observation/question here. Jensen Huang the Nvidia CEO is often seen in his $9000.00 lizard-embossed Tom Ford jacket in calf skin. Couldn't he easily have a custom-made real lizard skin jacket made by the likes of Johnson's for far less? How exceedingly expensive is Lizard versus the fashion hype of a Tom Ford piece?

I never see lizard-based leather in FL, maybe because it's illegal in certain parts.
The article said his wife and daughter are responsible for his current style and I would not be surprised if they bought his clothes.
Johnson Leathers could be more proactive in approaching celebrity clients. Lebron wore special one off natural Vanson jacket, I am guessing his team had a lot to do with that than himself.
Exotic skins can get quite pricey though, like 3 to 5 times the normal cowhide/horsehide we wear around here. Very rockstar.
