Cleaning a Panama

Just got back from a trip to the Oaxacan coast in Mexico. Got my Panama a little dirty...on the pinch and from sweat near the ribbon. Is there an easy way to clean this off? Can I just use a light soap and detergent?

Clean it!!! Why those stains are badges of honor!!!!

Just kidding, I have had some luck using plain water and a soft cloth.

Yeah, last time I was in Mexico, down in the Chiapas jungle, I learned the AB just ain't the hat for that heat. Too bad, but I gotta wear my Panamas sometime!...KC
